Explore Citizenship, Multiculturalism, and Belonging in Lone Beiter’s New Sculptural Exhibition

We are excited to introduce CITIZENSHIP, a thought-provoking exhibition by Dingle-based Danish artist Lone Beiter, curated by Valeria Ceregini. Beiter’s latest body of work brings audiences into a dialogue on Citizenship, Multiculturalism, Belonging, and Longing, combining inspiration from archaeology, migration myths, personal experiences, and current societal discussions.

This exhibition showcases three unique sculptural forms: deep-relief wall pieces, pyramidical structures, and Bronze-age inspired boat forms. Each piece, rooted in natural patterns and emotive abstraction, serves as a window into the complex narratives surrounding migration and identity. The figurative boat forms, paired with deeply expressive abstract compositions, offer a dramatic, narrative-rich exploration of these themes.

CITIZENSHIP is a deeply personal journey for Beiter, influenced by her current experience applying for Irish citizenship—a process that began earlier this year. Her work navigates the layered intersections of Irish, English, and Danish identity, creating an exhibition that’s as multicultural as it is introspective. By integrating materials like ceramic, lustre, and bronze, Beiter pushes her craft in new directions, expanding her artistic practice.

Situated in the heart of the Gaeltacht, CITIZENSHIP poses timely questions: What responsibilities come with citizenship? How does official status transform personal identity? What narratives emerge when different cultures coexist within us? Through this exhibition, Beiter invites us all to consider these questions, prompting a universal reflection on belonging through the tactile, layered language of sculpture.

Don’t miss this compelling journey—join us in the Gaeltacht to experience CITIZENSHIP.

The opening event will feature the presence of the artists Lone Beiter, curator Valeria Ceregini, and Billy O’Shea, Copenhagen-based Irish writer and musician.
