The exhibition project Futures Fragilities comes from the collaboration between the curator Valeria Ceregini and the three Irish artists Alannah Robins, Katherine Sankey and Mark Cullen as they all have an interest towards ecology and a post-human vision.
After an established collaboration with each artist across several international venues, such as the Culterim Galerie, Berlin, IMMA – Irish Museum of Modern Art and RHA – Royal Hibernian Academy, both Dublin, RTÉ – Ireland’s National Public Service Media, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Villa Croce, Genoa, Italy the curator intends to present a modular site-specific installation project in one of the most beautiful aristocratic palace in Turin, Palazzo Birago, currently the domicile of the Torino Chamber of Commerce that has supported Diffusissima since their beginning.
Specifically, for the Italian festival DIFFUSISSIMA 2024 Ceregini has planned – together with the artists – to display three site-specific installations in response to the sumptuous Juvarra’s late-Baroque rooms. Enhancing the multisensory nature of the exhibition, it has been invited the special guest Louise Manifold, lens-based Irish artist. She will premiere during the opening night for the Art Week’s audience her sound project, Aerial/Sparks.
The launch event will feature the presence of the artists Alannah Robins, Katherine Sankey, Mark Cullen and Louise Manifold, curator Valeria Ceregini, the co-founder of ArtàPorter, Massimo Gioscia and Dario Ujetto, the Culture Councillor of Turin City, Rosanna Purchia, and the Consul General of Ireland in Milan, Maria Sheeny.
This exhibition for its transcultural value is supported by Culture Ireland, the Consulate of Ireland in Milan, the Municipality of Turin and the local start-up ArtàPorter as also partners of the project and founder of DIFFUSISSIMA.
About the Artists:
Alannah Robins has a dynamic artistic practice, based in Ireland and Sweden. She has an artistic investigation into the nature of reality to prepare the way for scientific discoveries. What recurs is a reference to man’s relationship to nature.

Katherine Sankey is an Australian Irish artist born in Paris and is based in Dublin. Her sculpture uses living plant tissue and human supply lines to engage in the geo-feminist conversation about what we gouge and suck out of the planet.

Il progetto espositivo Future Fragilities nasce dalla collaborazione fra il curatore della mostra, Valeria Ceregini, e gli artisti irlandesi Alannah Robins, Katherine Sankey e Mark Cullen, animati dall’interesse verso l’ecologia e una visione postumana del mondo.
Avendo collaborato assieme a ciascuno degli artisti in diverse mostre e progetti in sedi internazionali quali la Culterim Galerie di Berlino, l’IMMA – Irish Museum of Modern Art e l’RHA – Royal Hibernian Academy entrambe di Dublino, RTÉ – Ireland’s National Public Service Media e il Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Villa Croce a Genova, è intenzione del curatore presentare un esempio di lavoro modulare e site-specific per uno dei palazzi nobiliari più belli della Città di Torino, Palazzo Birago, attuale sede istituzionale della Camera di commercio di Torino, che sostiene sin dalla sua prima edizione Diffusissima.
E proprio, per DIFFUSISSIMA 2024 e per questa sede prestigiosa, Valeria Ceregini ha ideato assieme agli artisti, un allestimento site-specific che dialoga con la magnificenza delle sale tardo-barocche juvarriane. Grazie alla partecipazione speciale dell’artista irlandese lens-based Louise Manifold, si intende, inoltre, accrescere la natura multisensoriale della mostra attraverso la presentazione al pubblico dell’Art Week prevista durante la serata inaugurale del proprio progetto sonoro “Aerial/Sparks”.
Saranno presenti durante l’inaugurazione gli artisti Alannah Robins, Katherine Sankey, Mark Cullen e Louise Manifold, il curatore Valeria Ceregini, i cofondatori di ArtàPorter, Massimo Gioscia e Dario Ujetto, l’Assessora alla Cultura della Città di Torino, Rosanna Purchia, e il Console Generale d’Irlanda a Milano, Maria Sheeny.
Per il suo valore transculturale e internazionale la mostra collettiva ha ricevuto il supporto governativo del Culture Ireland, del Consolato d’Irlanda a Milano, del patrocinio della Città di Torino e della preziosa collaborazione della startup torinese Artàporter partner del progetto, ideatore e promotore di DIFFUSISSIMA.

Alannah Robins ha una pratica artistica dinamica tra l’Irlanda e la Svezia. La sua indagine artistica sulla natura si rivolge alla realtà delle cose dedicandosi alle scoperte scientifiche. Ciò che ricorre nel suo lavoro è un riferimento al rapporto dell’uomo con la natura.

Katherine Sankey è un’artista irlandese australiana nata a Parigi e residente a Dublino. Le sue sculture utilizzano tessuti vegetali e forniture d’acqua tubolari che si inserisco nella conversazione geo-femminista su ciò che estraiamo e succhiamo dal pianeta.
